My wife and I were going on a Mediterranean cruise and wanted to spend as much time in Egypt as possible. The cruise two day tour prices were outrageously high so I looked at all the reviews and made contact with Ramses Tours to see what they could offer. I have to admit I was a little nervous using a ?non-cruise approved? excursion, especially in a country like Egypt, but all of those fears were unfounded. Right from the start I knew it was a good decision. They were very responsive in making the reservations and within a few mails back and forth everything was arranged. When we arrived in Alexandria our tour guide Mimmo and driver Hussen were waiting right outside the terminal. I won?t go into all the great sites we saw around Cairo, but I can only say great things about our guide Mimmo and his knowledge of Egyptian history and culture. He spoke English very well and communication was never an issue. He was a true pro and knew all the in and outs of when and where to enter sites, usually getting to sites right as they opened and getting right to the front of the line, no waiting, tickets were always ready and the van was always brought close to the site (much closer than the big tour buses). He took many great pictures of us and knew all the angles of how to pose us, we have a lot of great memories from the two days we were in Cairo. Hussen knew all the roads and never got lost in what seemed like a large maze of streets. The second day they were at our hotel promptly at 7:15 and after a morning at the Cairo Museum they took us back to Port Said in plenty of time to meet our cruise ship. They stopped at local restaurants with western style food both days and they would stop whenever we need something, restroom, snack, etc. In all the mails we exchanged before we arrived Ramses promised ?the tour of your life time with us in Egypt? and I can only say they were absolutely right!
